The United States is the world’s leader in oil and natural gas production, but industry needs sufficient infrastructure to efficiently and safely move that product down the line and ultimately to markets and end customers. To meet national and global demands in the near term, the energy sector faces significant challenges as a result of aging infrastructure, including supply security and reliability and resiliency, along with regulatory and other challenges as new projects can face public backlash. Our discussion will start in the Denver Julesburg Basin and explore infrastructure issues, including takeaway capacity and current infrastructure needs, and then expand out to include other basins, the challenges there and how they compare to the DJ. What are the regional and national opportunities and challenges when it comes to infrastructure, investment and midstream issues in various basins? Multiple gas processing facilities are coming on line and gathering assets are under construction, what does that change mean?
