Chip was born and raised in Chagrin Falls, Ohio (East of Cleveland). He graduated from Furman University in 1980 with a Business Degree and University of Texas in 1983 with a degree in petroleum engineering. He has a total of 34 years of oilfield experience.
Chip began his career in 1983 with ARCO Oil & Gas Company in Denver where he served as a drilling and completion engineer. In 1986 he moved to Midland, Texas working in the production and drilling departments for ARCO. In 1990 he was transferred to Lafayette, Louisiana as a Sr. Operations Engineer. His focus was GOM shelf and high pressure onshore areas.
In 1993, Chip was transferred to Houston Texas where he worked for Vastar Resource’s in their Gulf of Mexico Region. His primary focus from 1995-2000 was offshore deep water operations.
In 2000, Chip worked for Aspect Resources as Drilling Manager. In 2002 when he was hired on by Noble Energy as Drilling Manager for their US Onshore Region. Over the next several years he was promoted to Noble Energy’s VP of Operations Services where managed Noble’s world-wide drilling and supply chain until end of 2011. In January of 2012, he managed Noble’s International West Africa, Non-Operated and New Ventures Divisions. In April of 2013, Chip was promoted to Sr. VP Global EHSR & Operations Services. In 2016, Chip moved to Denver with the assignment of Sr. VP of Noble Energy’s US Onshore which included DJ Basin, Marcellus, Eagle Ford and Permian areas. Chip currently serves as the Sr. VP of Global Operations.
Chip has been married for 26 years and has 2 children, both attend Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
