With experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors, J. J. Ament brings a unique combination of expertise to his role as CEO of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation. A former investment banker who specialized in public finance, J. J. structured and executed financial transactions for governments, quasi-public agencies and public-private partnerships throughout the U.S. totaling over $15 billion during his fifteen-year career.
J.J. served for six years as a member of the Colorado Economic Development Commission, completing his service in 2017 as Chairman, overseeing state economic development incentives, grants and tax credits. A native Coloradan, J. J. was born and raised on a farm and cattle ranch in northeast Colorado. He is a life member of the National Western Stock Show Association, the University of Colorado Alumni Association and is an active member of the South Suburban Christian Church. He and his wife, Nicole, a real-estate shareholder with the law firm Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber & Schreck make their home in Littleton with their children Elli, Sydney and Sam
